The annual competition for the Ray Candelent Trophy was held on a beautiful, sunny evening. Traditionally it has been a drawn three wood pairs game, but this year as fourteen members were available to take part, it was decided to try to accommodate them all. Therefore, the draw was made with two triple rinks playing with two woods and four pairs playing with three woods. Three games were played of six ends each. Having calculated the winners, by using two points for a win and one point for a draw, two teams remained level with the number of points scored, shots won for and against and shot difference. Therefore, it was decided to award the trophy to: Colin Osborne/Nigel Walker and Natalie Murray/Mel Smith..
Eleven members took part in a club evening to help raise £60 for R.P.B.C’s charity for 2025 ’The Friends of St Cross’. Playing in drawn teams of three, the scoring put their mental addition skills to the test, as they had to calculate the scores, in descending order 4,3,2,1, for the first four woods nearest the jack. Which meant that both teams playing against each other, were able to record a score. Three games, with newly drawn teams, each of six ends were played, giving everyone a chance to play with or against each other. After initial confusion and much deliberation each end, the overall winner for the evening was Carol Ryan.
